Thursday, September 1st- Just 24 hours before the festival begins, organizers of the 2011 Telluride Film Festival have annouced this year's lineup. This year's selections include the stunning new documentary The Island President, from director Jon Shenk.
It was just announced that Nicky's Family is sharing the Audience Award for the Best Documentary at the 2011 Montreal World Film Festival. The Festival ran from August 18th to the 28th, and is an "A" level world class Film Festival.
Nicky's Family tells the nearly forgotten story of Nicholas Winton, an Englishman who organized the rescue of 669 Czech and Slovak children just before the outbreak of World War II.
This award is now added to the others Nicky's Family has received; the Forum for the Preservation of Audio-Visual Memory Award at the 2011 Jerusalem Film Festival, and the Audience Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2011.
“It’s been another excellent year for Israeli film,” said Marek Rozenbaum, President of the Israel Academy for Film and Television, as he announced the films nominated for this year’s Ophir Awards, the highest honors given by the Israeli film industry. Among them is the internationally-acclaimed drama Restoration, from director Joseph Madmony, which was nominated for an incredible 11 Ophir Awards!

- Best Director (Joseph Madmony)
- Best Actor (Sasson Gabai)
- Best Supporting Actor (Henri David)
- Best Supporting Actress (Sarah Adler)
- Best Cinematography (Boaz Yehonatan Yacov)
- Best Screenplay (Erez Kav-El)
- Best Editing (Ayala Bengad)
- Best Production Design (Yoav Sinai)
- Best Original Music (Avi Belleli)
- Best Soundtrack (Oleg Kaiserman, Aviv Aldema, Israel David)
